Playing In Nature
I hope that through my tips and resources we all can inspire other families to foster a love for nature in themselves and their children too. Let’s start a generation trend of loving, caring for and respecting Mother Nature.

I absolutely love permaculture and holistic land management and what they stand for and do when implemented correctly and fully. My goal is to share my love of nature with you, give you tips, and guides and increase your nature knowledge.
I am currently based in the UK, living in a caravan with my husband and fur baby. We are traversing the whole of the UK, with Scotland, Ireland and hopefully the Isle of man as well. Such Fun!

Used in many of Ross and Demelza’s most iconic coastal scenes
In Poldark, Nampara Cove represents the wild and beautiful coastline surrounding Ross Poldark’s home. It is where Ross reflects on his struggles, where key emotional conversations unfold, and where some of the series’ most visually striking scenes take place.

Few locations in Poldark are as instantly recognisable as Nampara Cove. With its turquoise waters, white sand and dramatic granite cliffs, this fictional setting became one of the defining backdrops of the series.
In reality, Nampara Cove is filmed at Porthcurno Beach, one of the most breathtaking beaches in West Cornwall.
If Botallack represents Ross’s grit and determination, Porthcurno represents the soul of the story — freedom, reflection, romance and the ever-present power of the sea.
The producers needed a beach that felt both wild and cinematic. Porthcurno offers exactly that.
The sweeping bay is framed by towering cliffs, and from above, the water often glows an almost Mediterranean blue. On camera, it provides the perfect contrast between serenity and drama — calm on one day, fierce Atlantic energy the next.
Throughout the series, Ross is often shown riding or walking along this coastline. Many of the quieter, more introspective scenes were filmed here, giving viewers that strong emotional connection to Nampara.
When you visit Porthcurno, the first thing that strikes you is the colour of the water. On sunny days, it genuinely looks tropical — though the temperature reminds you very quickly that you’re in Cornwall.
Standing on the sand, looking back up at the cliffs, you can immediately recognise the filming angles used in the series. Many fans say it feels surreal seeing “Nampara” in real life.
For the best views, walk part of the South West Coast Path above the beach. From this elevated position, you can capture those sweeping panoramic shots that made the show so visually powerful.
Just above Porthcurno sits the world-famous Minack Theatre — an open-air theatre carved into the cliffside.
While not a Poldark filming location, it enhances the experience dramatically. The views from here are some of the most photographed in Cornwall, and it’s well worth combining both during your visit.
Early morning: Quieter and perfect for photography
Late afternoon: Softer light and fewer crowds
Check tide times if you want maximum beach space
Because Porthcurno is just 20–25 minutes from Chyvounder, you can easily plan around the weather. If the sun appears unexpectedly, you can be at Nampara within half an hour.
Many Poldark filming locations are scattered across Cornwall, but West Cornwall offers the highest concentration of iconic scenes.
By staying near Penzance, you place yourself within easy reach of:
Botallack (Wheal Leisure)
Cape Cornwall
Levant Mine
Porthcurno (Nampara Cove)
St Michael’s Mount
After a day exploring cliffs and beaches, returning to a peaceful hideaway makes the experience even more memorable.
Imagine spending the afternoon walking along Nampara, then returning to your private garden retreat, opening a bottle of wine, and watching the Cornish sunset — your own Poldark moment.
Part of the magic of visiting these locations is how untouched they feel. Cornwall hasn’t been overdeveloped; the landscapes remain wild and authentic.
Staying locally means you’re not rushing between distant towns. You can explore slowly, revisit favourite spots, and experience the coastline in changing light and weather — just as the series portrays it.
Chyvounder provides that perfect balance: close enough for easy access, yet private enough to unwind fully after your adventures.
This podcast is a way for me to express myself, as my husband will tell you, I have many thoughts, ideas and I suppose beliefs about how life could be better for us all, now and in the long run. How we as a species need to become more conscious so that all life on Earth can live in harmony, supporting and nourishing each other in turn.
I am open to podcast, topics of discussion and thoughts or questions that have been hounding you.

If you’re like us, there’s a yearning inside of you to connect with nature. You’re tired of life in the hamster wheel and you want to reclaim a little freedom.
To explore either by yourself or with the whole family. No matter where or how far away from home you may go; it does not matter.
Opening your heart up to nature is all that matter
