Playing In Nature
I hope that through my tips and resources we all can inspire other families to foster a love for nature in themselves and their children too. Let’s start a generation trend of loving, caring for and respecting Mother Nature.
I absolutely love permaculture and holistic land management and what they stand for and do when implemented correctly and fully. My goal is to share my love of nature with you, give you tips, and guides and increase your nature knowledge.
I am currently based in the UK, living in a caravan with my husband and fur baby. We are traversing the whole of the UK, with Scotland, Ireland and hopefully the Isle of man as well. Such Fun!
We all know that spending time in nature is good for us. It can reduce stress, improve our mood, increase our energy levels, and improve our overall health. But sometimes it can be difficult to find the time or opportunity to get outside. Whether you’re stuck at home with young children or travelling for work, there are plenty of ways to connect with nature no matter your age or location.
Get outside for a walk, run, or bike ride.
Spending even a few minutes outside in the fresh air can do wonders for your energy levels and mood. If you can, try to make it a daily habit.
Visit a local park or nature reserve.
Most cities have at least one green space where you can go for a walk or simply sit and enjoy the surroundings.
Turn your backyard into a mini oasis.
If you have a yard, even a small one, try planting some flowers or vegetables, or put up a bird feeder to attract local wildlife.
Grow an indoor plant.
Not everyone has the space for outdoor plants, but almost everyone can find room for at least one pot of greenery inside their home.
Keep a nature journal.
Whenever you spend time outside, take along a notebook and record your observations of the plant and animal life around you. You can also include sketches if you’re artistically inclined.
Cook with seasonal produce.
Eating seasonal fruits and vegetables is not only good for your health but also helps you feel connected to the natural world around you.
Go stargazing.
There’s something incredibly calming about looking up at the night sky—it can help put things into perspective and remind you of how big the Universe is.
Listen to the sounds of nature.
If you live in an urban area, it can be difficult to find silence. But there are now many phone apps and websites that offer recordings of natural sounds like rainstorms, waterfalls, and birdsong. Just 10-15 minutes of listening can help reduce stress levels.
Participate in citizen science projects.
Organizations like iNaturalist and Project Noah offer opportunities to contribute to scientific research from anywhere in the world.
Learn about traditional ecological knowledge.
If you want to connect with nature on a deeper level, try learning about the traditional ecological knowledge of Indigenous people in your area. This knowledge is often based on centuries of observation and experience and can teach us a lot about living in harmony with the natural world.
As you can see, No matter your age or location, there are many ways to connect with nature. So get outside and start exploring!

This podcast is a way for me to express myself, as my husband will tell you, I have many thoughts, ideas and I suppose beliefs about how life could be better for us all, now and in the long run. How we as a species need to become more conscious so that all life on Earth can live in harmony, supporting and nourishing each other in turn.
I am open to podcast, topics of discussion and thoughts or questions that have been hounding you.
